Dr. S.S. Agarwal did his graduation and post graduation in Medicine from the prestigious SMS Medical College, Jaipur. He has been on the forefront of creating a strong inter & intra-organizational support system for the medicos across the country. He is President of AIIMS Jodhpur, appointed by Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India. Dr Agarwal believes that AIIMS Jodhpur will grow leaps & bounds by focusing on the patient experience, enhancing the quality of care, building trust, and improving overall patient satisfaction.

He has been a medical activist since his residency years. When he was pursuing his MD, he was the President of Jaipur Resident Doctors Association and Rajasthan Resident Doctors Association. In 1982, he started his professional career by establishing Swasthya Kalyan Hospital.

In his endeavor to be in the forefront for the medicos He has been National President Indian Medical Association (IMA) from December 2015-16 after he was unanimously elected for this post; in the course, he is the first practitioner from Rajasthan to hold this position. After years of being the Hony State Secretary of IMA Rajasthan, in 2008 he was elected the National Vice President of IMA HQs. He is at various standing committees and Member of IMA CWC since more than 20 years.

He held the post of National Convener, BJP Medical Cell from 2007- 2013 & has taken active participation in policy making for health at national level. He is convener of Sankalp Patr manifesto for Rajasthan BJP.

He is nominated by President of India as Managing Body member of Indian Red Cross Society-HQs New Delhi, Executive body and Institutional body member of AIIMS, Jodhpur, Member-Medical Tourism & Wellness Board-Ministry of Tourism; Govt. of India, Member-Central Council of Health & Family Welfare-MOHFW, Govt. of India, Member-Ethic Committee Medical Council of India (MCI), Member-Rajasthan Medical Council, Member- National Blood Transfusion Council Govt. of India.  He is Trustee of International Network for Cancer Treatment & Research (INCTR) in official relations with W. H. O. He is National Joint Secretary General and Rajasthan Pradesh President of International Vaish Federation, Secretary of the Dhanvantri Ayurved Hospital, Johari Bazar, jaipur, Trustee-Calgary Eye hospital, Founder member of International Vaish Federation.

He has been awarded by Governor of Rajasthan on 26th January 2001 with Rs 50,000 cash and appreciation certificate, for his inspiring work in Medical field Blood Donation. He has also received National ISBTI Award from Health Minister-Karnataka and many life time achievement awards by various organizations; including awards from Mayor and Collector of Jaipur. He had also received S.M.S. Medical College Seven Decade celebrations Excellence Award in 2018. He is awarded Certificate of Appreciation by National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences, Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Govt. of India in 2024

Working conditions for private enterprises were not easy in 1980s and 1990s. Private healthcare institutions, other than small nursing homes, were absent. A visionary, he started the first private ambulance of the state in 1988 and went on to establish the first private sector blood bank of Rajasthan in 1995, followed by starting the first Nuclear Imaging Centre of the state in 1997 which revolutionized the oncology field in the state while paving way for massive advancements in diagnostic medicine.

While working in the private setup, Dr. Agarwal began to realize the importance of skilled education for the continued proliferation of the medical field. He was of the view that a skilled human would not only contribute to his profession, but would also enhance the ability of the nation at large. With this in mind, he established the First Nursing School of the state in 1998. Since then he has gone on to establish various colleges to boost skill development across the state, and the country. These include 2003 Nursing College, In 2005 Paramedical College, In 2007 Physiotherapy College, In 2013 Yog College. In 2017 Dr. S. S. Agarwal establish Rajasthan Hospital, a multi Specialty State of the art 350 bedded hospital, with bed strength of 450 beds at Jaipur. It has a built up area of more than 3 lakh sq. feet in 20,000 Sq. meter area.

Dr. Agarwal is considered a pioneer in the field of health & education. He consults the state government on various new & existing projects and policies of the field. He has also held the position of President in Medical Practitioners Society and Private Hospitals & Nursing Homes Society Rajasthan, the post of Chairman in All Rajasthan Private Doctors Federation, & various respectable posts in API & NMO. He is the Member of Board in various universities and member of various government councils, besides his political responsibility as member of BJP Rajasthan State Working Committee.
