About CME
Hospital-Acquired Infections (HAIs) have become more important in today's changing environment, dealing with the threats of newly emerging pathogens. The hazard extends not only to patients but to the staff working in hospitals and also to the community at large. The risk of HAIs in developing countries is much higher than in developed countries. In addition to financial burden and increase in mortality, it has profound impact on the delivery of health services too. All resources are over burdened and the use of higher antimicrobial drugs also increases. A majority of these infections are preventable with good hospital infection control practices. In the wake of a new hospital being established, sound hospital infection control practices can reap rewards in the long run. Therefore, the objective of the scientific sessions of the CME is to increase participant’s knowledge of recent developments in the management of Hospital Infections and practical implementation of this newly gained knowledge into Infection Control & Hygiene.
